Responding to God’s Call

“Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.””
— ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Samuel slept in the Tabernacle, near the Ark of God. Because of his proximity to God, he was in a position to hear when God called him. Samuel didn’t realize it was God calling him at first but with Eli’s help, Samuel responded to the Lord.

On my walk with Christ, there have been different things He has called me to. Currently, I feel like He’s calling me even deeper … into greater intimacy … into closer proximity.

This season feels like a clarion call to draw closer to God. To sit at His feet. To not just hear Him — but to respond.

There are things that God is calling me to do and my answer must be “Yes Lord, here I am.”

I can no longer be distracted by circumstances. I can no longer let my emotions determine my obedience.

My answer is yes.
Immediately yes.
Completely yes.

God is calling and I must respond with my whole heart. I am looking forward to this journey of drawing closer to Him.
